Hello,

I am looking for a suggestion on what type of switch I should get for a proxmox cluster? Need 10g switch.

Thanks

Hey!
It's hard to recommend a specific one, but here are some features you probably want:
  • Smart / Managed switch .. otherwise you don't have a lot of features
  • 802.11q - tagged VLAN
  • RADIUS for Authentication
  • POE is nice to have
  • QoS .. I never needed it so far, but should be important in bigger networks
I always went with Netgear because they are very affordable, but Cisco, Mikrotik, D-Link, Linksys and Buffalo are also worth considering.

I'd say it depends on your budget, network topology, number of ports you need, port type (rj45/spf), functions required, etc.

Buffalo has "value" series BS-MP of smart-managed 10g-switches. Ubiquity has also some entry-level "EdgeSwitch" or "UniFiSwitch" 10gb-switches. Or Netgate ProSafe XS700. They are all priced at ~400-500$, good enough for soho. If your application is more serious, you have to look for higher-level models (for twice - three times higher price, of course)...
