we're using Proxmox on two dedicated Hosts in the Cloud (Hetzner) and since this week a new Proxmox-Server locally.
Actual, we're create backups in the Cloud to a virtual PBS, which has a Hetzner Storage Box connected - it runs, but it's very slow.
I sync these backups to a local PBS - in case, that Hetzner has network issues or something else and we have to get services quickly up and running in our HQ.
The local Proxmox-Host is acutal backed-up by Veeam, where we use Backup-Copy-Jobs to USB-Harddrives. These Harddrives are weekly switched and stored outside.
I would like to find a better solution for this use-case.
Cloud:
- Any suggestions for VPS-Providers, which offers HDD-Storage? We don't need much performance (but more that the Hetzner Storage Box offers) and about 5 TB
- I know that there are Providers, that let you rent a fully PBS incl. Storage. Any recommendations/expieriences?
Local:
- I don't want to use Tape-Drives, so i would like to use SATA-HDDs (for compatibility and "easy" accessibility)
- Is it possible to configure PBS for "rotating" backup-targets? So that i can backup to local drive X and weekly change the HDD?
- I don't need 100 backup-restorepoints on this "portable backup"; the last restorepoint would be enough.
