Hi,
Recently going to move to proxmox email filter from scrolloutf1 for the option that i can get my users to check their spam and more features it has. My question is any recommendation on the mail filter rules? or dnsbl.

Thank you

WOW i saw the thread and my god its amazing. I guess i need to test it out but reading though the whole thread for your rules on the webGUI do you have anything specific?

On the GUI itself I just decide not to block anything incoming, not to use the quarantine but tagging mail subjects, additional for virus and dangerous files (this ones I also remove and let the admin get informed), I start with level 6 to tag on my private installation and with 9 on my commercial version. See the pmgdb dumps at the end.

Thank you for the reply, amazing stuff out of curiosity i see DCC but you say aware of license requirements do we need to buy? Also with clamav Whats the different from the unofficial from which you configure?

Thank you

For DCC:

The non-commercial DCC software is distributed under a license that is free only to organizations that do not sell filtering devices or services except to their own users and that participate in the global DCC network.

For most Blacklists as well as ClamAV Unofficial portions from SecuritInfo and MalwarePatrol it’s not allowed to sell antispam services with the free license, it’s then required to purchase a license and/or use rsync (depending on product). Same if you hit limits, which are mostly >100.000 mails per day.
