I'd like to be able to change the node id/cluster id of servers in my cluster. I've got a decent sized one which is named sequentially (server01, server02, etc) and #3 and #4 are swapped in the vmlist on the web interface (So it goes 1,2,4,3,5...). Can I manually change the node ID in the /etc/pve/cluster.cfg, and what would be needed to swap the ids so they are more meaningful to me?

No, I would not do that (can lead to unexpected behaviour).

and what would be needed to swap the ids so they are more meaningful to me?

I do not understand that question?
