raw virtual disks, should they be converted to qcow2 ?

Hi, depend what you need.

For best speed, use raw.

If you need advanced features (snapshots,clones,...), use qcow2.

qcow2 can be a little slower for write speed, but it really depend of your workload (random or seq io, directio, block size, etc....)

Thank you for the answer.

Disk moves in pve are a great tool that makes it very easy for us to move disks from drbd to nfs . then in the future to ceph, sheepdog or other choices.
