Hi Everybody,

I have proxmox 4.2 with 3 nodes on a cluster and storage scsi on OpenMedia Vault
I created Vms in RAW(default) because storage is LVM.

I know that with LVM I can't migrate machines to qcow2. I tried with option "Move disk"in GUI but the line "Format: Raw disk image (raw)"is grayed. Moreover I don't used the commandline qemu-img because VMs are on storage OpenMedia Vault.

So, How can i do, to migrate in qcow2 (because I would like used snapshot)

Thank you very much for your reply

Best regards,

You use qemu-img. Use it directly on PVE. The VMs storage from OpenMedia Vault are mounted with in the storage tab... normaly. When not mount it. Then you can use qemu-img. But better is to use LVM-Thin, the new default format. You can also convert your VMs to move the disk's between storages, or backup VM and import it. And upgrade your installation to 4.4 when it is possible for you.

Hello Fireon,

Thank you very much for your replay. Indeed I have rather migrated on LVM-Thin, which allows me to make clones and snapshots.
Thank you for your advice and happy new year.
Regards,
