Hi,

I thought I would try Proxmox and have met the stumble of the setup not detecting the raid correctly.
Server is a HP Proliant ML350E Gen8

the raid controller is a B120i

it happens whan it's a fake/soft raid controller...

you have three ways:
- go without raid
- go with proxmox installed on top of debian wheezy (there's a wiki page for that)
- go installing a real hw raid (with BBU)

Hi thanks for your reply, the raid controller is a hardware raid plugged directly into the motherboard.

No, this is no real HW raid controller. This kind of thing is called fake-raid, because most functionality is implemented in software (that is why they are cheap).
