Hi, I recently just learn about Proxmox after buying a few sas hdd and want to learn about Proxmox
There's a fair bit of info about using iommu passing hba to vm for direct hdd management from the vm.
If I want the vm only control half of the hdd on the hba, and let Proxmox to control the other half of the hdd, is this possible?
If yes, may I have some guide line.
Thanks

No, you passthrough the whole HBA with all disks attached to it. Once you passthrough that HBA it is completely managed by the guestOS and the PVE host can't make use of it any longer.
