Hi,

Does it make sense to use it if you only have one physical Proxmox Server and one physical PBS Server?

Are there any benefits to that scenario and if which ?

Installation is via the .iso file?

Does it need an own dedicated physical server?

Thanks for explanation

Hey,

no. Not really, it is really lightweight. I'd recommend a simple debian CT and installing[1] it like a normal debian package, or a VM and use the provided ISO.

Note that it doesn't have to run on PVE, it communicates to PVE/PBS only through the public API.

Second question how can I remove the created API Token pen-admin-pdcm for user root@pam? for the Proxmox Backup Server Remote Node?

Update:

Found it

Hi,

Yes, it still makes sense.
Even with one Proxmox server and one PBS server, you get faster backups, deduplication, and safer storage.

PBS is installed using the ISO file.

And yes, it’s best to run PBS on its own physical server.
