Hi everyone, I've just installed proxmox for the first time and I basically haven't got any networking knowledge. I wanted to ask something (it might be a really dumb question, in that case I'm sorry). I saw a lot of people on online guides creating a vm or container with a firewall os like OPNsense and openwrt and routing its traffic through a vpn, so that when they need to connect some of their containers to the vpn they use that vm/ct as the bridge. Why can't you just configure the container as you'd do on any pc to connect to the vpn? Do they do that just because they have many containers that need a vpn connection and it would be dumb to configure them one by one? Or the other method just doesn't work?
