qm resize add space at start not end ?

When you resize the free space is appended to the end. Is it possible to append to start (win 10 guest).
Ive read docs no mention of this so guess not but thought worth checking.

You can boot a GParted Live ISO to move partitions around. This is much like you would do on a physical machine and not specific to Proxmox, so other Linux and Windows guides will apply.

Thanks, Tried that yesterday. All seemed to go Ok then on restart of guest got windows system repair and with novnc cant access F8. I have a couple of guests to move to win 10 - 11 and need to convert disks from mbr to gpt. However the mbr2gpt.exe needs space at start of disk. I'll give it another go.

You could probably create a new virtual disk image (with the larger size), partition accordingly & then dd the original image to the new one's second partition etc.

Whatever you do: - don't mess with the original -, you may end up with nothing workable!
