qemu guest agent install on ubuntu server

I have ubuntu server 24.04.3 running in a vm. It is the "thin" version. I'm having problems installing and running qemu-guest-agent.

I have updated and upgraded. Hoping that it might be installed, I ran this.


then tried to install it

Does the "thin server" have the needed repository?

needed to be installed as q35 and uefi bios

That has nothing to do with the package not being found. apt update would have been of interest because it's definitely there.
