I've read the faq's, watched a few videos, and did a search for "pxe" in these forums but I still could not find the answer. The install went perfectly. I was able to create my first vm. The problem is now installing an OS to it.

It seems like the search results on "pxe" yield question on how to pxe or net install promox ve, which is not what i want.

I have a PXE box on metal that hands out ip's by proxy (port 64, i think?). The problem is, when I netboot my vm, i cannot get an ip address. The vm just sits there trying to acquire an address. I have used the default rtl8139 and i have tried the e1000 virtual nic on vmbr0.

As I'm not a very good linux or network administrator, please let me know if you need any logs (route, /etc/network/interfaces, etc.)

AFAIK, KVM PXE boot does not work so far.
