Hello,
I have a proxmox pve. This has two ssds and two nics (Minisforum 820). One SSD is the boot drive and the other contains the VMs.
Can I put the ssds in another hardware and keep my settings? The new hardware (ASROCK board) only has one NIC, as my pfsense firewall should no longer run as a VM.
What things do I need to think about?

Hi,

Can I put the ssds in another hardware and keep my settings?
Generally yes, but you will need to adjust the network settings (primarily /etc/network/interfaces) some way or another.
First, interface names will most likely change due to different hardware but also switching from two NICs to one.
So you should ensure you have keyboard and monitor available, as you probably won't be able to connect via network to the new node.

Also, if you have any hardware passthrough (PCIe or USB) set up, that will also need adjustment, of course.

You can of course also backup the VMs to some external drive, install Proxmox VE fresh on the new hardware and then restore them.
