Hi...newbie here. I'm trying to install Proxmox on a spare desktop. It's not a server...just a desktop I have laying around so I can play with Proxmox. Theproblem I'm having is that once I select the install from the proxmox install menu and it starts to load, it hangs and locks up...I have no keyboard control and the install is hung. I've attached a photo of where it is hanging....sorry for the poor quality!

This is the pc I'm trying to install on:
Dell Vostro
Intel I7 10700F
NVMe SK hynix 256gb hd
2 additional 2tb SSD drives

This pc does not have an option for legacy boot in the BIOS that I can find and there is a comment in the BIOS that says "Legacy Boot Mode is not supported on this platform"

Steps I have tried:
- Tested usb installer stick on 2 other pcs using legacy & uefi and installer works fine
- Have disabled secure boot
- Have disabled TPM
- Tried different combos of with sercure boot & TPM on / off etc

Any tips on how to get by this issue and get PVE installed on this pc? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks in advance!

You seem to be (trying) loading the nvidiafb driver - which AFAIK should not be happening on a regular install. If the above-mentioned nomodeset kernel-parameter does not work, read on.

You could either remove that GPU card (if possible) for the install, or try this workaround.

Note: I have no personal experience with this.
