Hello all,

My PVE server has an iGPU onboard. I would like to allocate the iGPU to VM needs via mediated devices, but I want to be able to have the PVE console intact. Are there options to replace the console with other options, like VNC for console only?

Thanks,
Steve

I understand this to mean the actual console of the host itself (not the console in the GUI of PVE or an SSH connection - which both obviously exist).
So assuming you only have one GPU that has been passed through to a VM, your host has no physical GPU for itself. AFAIK no pure software solution (VNC or other) exists for this. You would need some remote server host console hardware on your MB, like an out-of-band management platform. Add-on cards to do this exist but are not cheap. You'd be better off adding the cheapest GPU to your server (& use a KVM if you want to access remotely).

Yes...its for the console but I thought thats what a mediated iGPU gives me...the ability to share with VMs and my PVE console.
