I installed proxmox 3.4 VE off a CD on to a 240 GB Corsair Force 3 SSD. I tried to boot off of it but it goes right to the BIOS every time.

So I installed proxmox on to a different drive, an HDD, and it still wouldn't boot. Still, right to the BIOS.

As a test I installed Debian on to the SSD and it boots fine so I know the computer is capable of booting something from the SSD.

No matter what I do I can't get the proxmox to boot!

The motherboard is a Asus Z87-PRO.

Any ideas?

So I already had secure boot set to other OS.

I did fix the problem though! The motherboards BIOS was woefully out of date. I flashed it to the latest version of the BIOS and it boots!
