Proxmox VNC client disconnecting every few seconds

Hi all,

Sorry to re-open this post a bit. But I have the same issue but found what, at least for me, the problem is. I just do not know how to fix it.

The problem:

I have Proxmox running with 2 separate networks. A LAN network for everything in the house, and a DMZ network for all servers connecting to the internet. My server running Proxmox has 4 NICs, so each network has its own NIC. I run OpnSense as firewall, DHCP and DNS server.

When I access the Proxmox web-UI using the host name from my laptop in LAN, I noticed that it would resolve the host name to the IP of the DMZ side instead of the LAN side. I do allow connection from LAN into DMZ but not vice-versa. So the UI loads, console loads also initially, but the connection drops away. In the firewall log I see an error.

So I assume this is an issue in my DNS server, since it is not resolving the IP of the network I am in, but probably the first match it encounters.

I'm having the same problem.

So far I've just found that. If I access PVE from the same network range, it works.

If I access PVE from a IP in another network rage, fails every 10 seconds.

192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.1.30 (works fine)
192.168.1.1 -> 192.168.2.30 (disconnect every 10~30 seconds)

192.168.2.1 -> 192.168.2.30 (works fine)
192.168.2.1 -> 192.168.1.30 (disconnect every 10~30 seconds)
