Hello,
I'm looking to try a Proxmox VE installation on a really small disk: a sata compact flash (CFast).
Would 4Go be enough or should I buy a bigger one.
Why ? because these cards are pricy (48€HT the 4Go..) :)

If I remember well, it's possible to install ESX on a 1Go sd card.

Thanks

I would really suggest to go with minimum 8GB. You do want to give Swap some room to move.

Since you are using up one SATA port anyway, why not just use a lowest size SSD?

Hello,

thanks for your quick reply. I've already have a ssd installed, no more caddy available and I need to boot the os from another drive (cluster issue). Since my question, I found out another option less expensive than CFast: SATA DOM. (I've got a free sata port..)

bye
