Hi all,

I just buy 2 identic servers and I want to install a Proxmox VE cluster made by these 2 servers. Now, before P proceed to any operation I ask you what I need to do first?

After I install on both servers the VE how I will define the cluster? How I define Master and Slave?

with these 2 server I intend to test this:

1) How I create a cluster from 2 servers
2) What I need to do if the Master failed; how I transform the Slave server into a master or what I need to do to automatically switch from Master to Slave.
3) If I can create different VM on these servers and only few to be syncronized.

I can find some details about my tests?

And I need to test also the backup procedure. Maybe some scripts to copy the VM on another FTP server or external disk

Proxmox VE is a configuration cluster - VM data is not replicated. So you need to recover the data somehow first (replace damaged HW, restore backup, ...)

Use 'pveca -m ' to transform a slave int master.
 
OK, I see now...so I can not create a "mirror" :(

Maybe for future, this option will be available ;)

In this moment there are no possibilities to use this configuration? To create a master and a "mirror" slave as a backup of the master?
