Hardware:
- Motherboard: CWWK 12th Gen Intel i3-N305 NAS "monster board"
- RAM: 32GB DDR5
- Storage: NVMe SSD
- No dedicated graphics card installed
Issue:
I've been trying to set up Proxmox VE 8.4 on this system and encountering multiple issues:- Direct installation failure: When trying to directly install Proxmox from the ISO, the installer freezes during boot after detecting hardware. When start setup with acpi=off it works until issue 2
- EFI boot error: After progressing further with modified parameters, I received this error:
bootloader setup errors
- failed to prepare EFI boot using Grub on '/dev/nvme0n1p2': unable to install the EFI boot loader on '/dev/nvme0n1'
- Debian conversion method: I successfully installed Debian 12 first with acpi=off kernel parameter and then converted it to Proxmox, but now having issues with services.
- Post-conversion service failures: After converting to Proxmox, the following services are failing:
- pve-cluster.service fails to start
- pvestatd.service fails with "Connection refused" errors
- pveproxy.service runs but has SSL key loading failures
- Regenerating SSL certificates
- Creating and resetting the cluster configuration
- Removing and recreating various configuration directories
- Different boot parameters
<span><span>pvestatd[1014]: ipcc_send_rec[1] failed: Connection refused<br></span></span><span>pvestatd[1014]: Unable to load access control list: Connection refused<br></span><span><br></span><span>pveproxy[1022]: /etc/pve/local/pve-ssl.key: failed to load local private key<br></span><span><br></span><span>pve-cluster.service: Failed with result 'exit-code'</span>
Questions:
- Has anyone successfully installed Proxmox 8.x on this CWWK i3-N305 motherboard or similar hardware?
- Are there known issues with Proxmox clustering services and ACPI settings?
- Any suggestions for alternative boot parameters that might work better than acpi=off - tried ht, norirq, noacpi - nothing works?
