Proxmox updates

Hi-

We've just purchased a Basic subscription for our Proxmox hosts, but I haven't been activated for support yet so asking this here.

Now that we have access to the subscription-only repository, I have a lot of pending updates and I'm wondering about the best practice here.

  • Should I ever need to do a manual reboot/restart of either the host OS, or some of the services, after applying updates? I know the updates will probably restart some services anyway.
  • In a cluster, am I likely to see any problems during the update process while hosts are out of step with each other on versions?
  • Is it always advisable to wait until off-peak/out-of-hours time to apply updates? I'd imagine so.
