Hello all,
Thank you for your assistance and knowledge thusfar, its been a great resource to get me up and going. I am in the process of completing my first install of Proxmox, now onto creating a TrueNAS VM install with the intention of passing through my PCIe SATA controller from motherboard to Proxmox. Thusfar, I have ensured that IOMMU is enabled from bios, followed the guide to enabling it in the grub/reboot etc. I have used lspci to identify the controller, and then added this in the hardware config from the Proxmox VE.
The trouble I'm currently having is that I've been able to complete the full TrueNAS install (to a separate NVMe not in the same IOMMU group), but the TrueNAS is getting stuck at "Booting from Hard Disk...". I've done a bit of searching online and there seems to be some success reconfiguring settings around the PCI device, which is where I've been focused. EDIT: Just to add, I've tried various configs around the PCIe device to see if I could get TrueNAS to boot, such as unticking ROM-Bar/All functions). I just wanted to raise the query on this forum to see if anyone has any insight into what this could possibly be?
For reference, I'm setting this up on a HP Elitedesk 800 G5 SFF, Intel I5-9500 CPU, 8Gb ram, 500 Gb NVMe boot drive (with TrueNAS Vm boot) and 2x 4Tb HDDs on the motherboard SATA's.
I'm close to mounting the HDs as virtual storage, but would prefer the PCIe passthrough route if possible. Any advice or guidance on this would be appreciated!
