we are using a Synology DS1221+ in our datacenter. We use it in our PVE environment as storage for backup/restore and offer a NFS share. We have Gigabit network, firewall checked, many tests local vice versa in PVE cluster environment. But the backup/restore speed is very slow. It starts fast with 80 MB/s (so 500-600 Mbits/s) and after a view minutes the speed drops to 10 MB/s. We tested now the Proxmox Backup Server and with this we get a continious speed of 100 MB/s (so 800 Mbit/s).
Can you tell us, is it a configuration issue with our Synology, or isnt it possible to get accurate speed with Synology, NFS Share and PVE?
