[SOLVED] Proxmox Server Inaccessible After Reboot

I am super new to this...

I had my proxmox server running fine for the last 107 days, today I needed to move my desk where my server sat so I gracefully shut it down from the web GUI, unpowered it, moved it to its new location and powered it on. At first everything appeared to be working, but many hours later I attempted to access the web GUI only for the page not to load. I attempted to ping my server and received host is down. If I plug a monitor in and login directly everything seems normal, ip a reports the correct IP, nothing in journalctl seems off. I tried restarting the pve services, no change, restarting networking, no change, restarted the server a few times, check BIOS date and time, no change. When I first powered on all my VMs appeared to work, now none of them are accessible. I am able to ping out without issue. I am not even sure where to start now.

Appreciate any thoughts and I would be glad to provide more info as requested.

Hi SnapeNinja!

To understand correctly -- if you attach a monitor to your PVE host you can reach the the GUI at 'https://localhost:8006', and reach the internet from your host? Also, all VMs are running, and these can reach the internet too?

Best,
Daniel

Hi Daniel;

If I attach a monitor I would only get the terminal and I was able to ping out. I asked around on an unofficial discord channel last night and ended up being guided to the solution. It wasn't proxmox at all, but rather a result of me moving my hardware across the room. It seemed my managed switch lost its settings and put proxmox on its own VLAN. After resetting those settings and a reboot, everything came back.

Appreciate you reaching out!
