Hi all,
I would like to install Proxmox for our Windows Server VMs and we search a server to do that.

I have a quote for a Dell server P570F, with SSD and Nvme. I see this post : https://forum.proxmox.com/threads/dell-vxrail-converted-to-proxmox-ceph.152499/ .
Before buying this server, I would be sure it's possible and all steps to do that (if I do update firmware, if I need disable some options in BIOS, ...) ; once the installation procedure started, no more problems.

Thanks

Seems the Dell P570F is a nothing more than a Dell R740xd.

I would get a Dell R740xd to future proof it to make sure it doesn't get vendor locked.

Make sure you get the NVME version of the R740xd otherwise you'll get a R740xd with a PERC which is NOT what you want.

So as to NOT waste any NVME slots mirroring Proxmox, get a Dell BOSS card to boot off Proxmox. I use the UEFI/utility to create a RAID-1 virtual disk. It will show up as a virtual disk during the install. I use XFS as the file system.
