Hi,
I have few Servers with 2 Ethernet Adapters only
we talking about SuperMicro Microblade with MBI-6128R-T2X
2x 10Gb/s network connectivity for each Node
now, I need:
1. Internet Connection WAN
2. Proxmox Internal Network for Cluster / Backups / etc...
3. distributed Storage / Ceph Network

any suggestion how to manage my network settings for this 3 needs with 2 NICs?
Regards,

Depends if you want a HA setup for the network as well. If you want to have two switches, so no single point of failure on the network side, you need to bond the two interfaces together and need to create separate vlans for the traffic to truly separate it from each other logically.

If you don't, separate the wan from the non-wan, so 1 and 2+3 on separate networks.

Hi,
No need HA setup for the network level, I should have HA setup between nodes so If I will have network issue, the nodes VMs will up from another node

With only 2 interface it's difficult to be "perfect".

But a good solution (security, availability, evolution) solution can be the solution in attachment.
  • Use bonding for redundancy reason
  • With only 2 adpataer, it's not possible to separate Interna, storage and front network. So my proposition is to use vlans over the bond interfaces

Thanks!
with Microblade, HA In network level not so important to me like software defined storage and HA in Proxmox level
