Hi all,

I use Proxmox for "real stuff" at work, but I've been thinking about a hobby project at home, and I'm wondering if Proxmox is the right solution.

Starting from the end, the goal as of right now is a platform with 4 GPUs and an iGPU, which can be configured as either host only, or host with any combination from 1 guestOS x 4 GPU to 4 guestOS x 1 GPU. It would be nice if SLI worked too.

I know this is 'bleeding edge' stuff, but proxmox seems like a natural starting point.

With that said, there are many things I'm probably not considering a this time.

One specific concern I have which I'm looking into now is the complication of hooking up HID and other USB devices.

Aside from that, any suggestions or thoughts on potential pitfalls, etc. are also appreciated.

It can be done using commodity GPUs and VFIO. Also, that article claims >80% of native speed, but I've seen >95% claimed for VFIO and KVM.

Thanks for the reply tho.

Subsequent to OP I've found there are small groups that have done this within the Arch Linux and Ubuntu communities, so I'll probably use one of those distros.
