Proxmox internet access

Hello,

don't know what I am doing wrong, but my proxmox server itself has no gateway to the internet - the vm's do have access! I can't downloading templates, updating the system or ping a website. But just from the proxmox server itself. The internet access within the virtual machines (kvm & openvz) works well.

The network setting should be standard. Heres my /etc/network/interfaces:

Code:
# network interface settingsauto lo
iface lo inet loopback

iface eth0 inet manual

auto vmbr0
iface vmbr0 inet static
        address 192.168.1.2
        netmask 255.255.255.0
        gateway 192.168.1.1
        bridge_ports eth0
        bridge_stp off
        bridge_fd 0

Did I miss something?

results from proxmox server itself:
Code:
# ping proxmox itself
me@proxmox: ping 192.168.1.2 # 0% package loss
# ping the gateway
me@proxmox: ping 192.168.1.1 # 0% package loss
# ping apache VM
me@proxmox: ping 192.168.1.3 # 0% package loss
# ping www.heise.de
me@proxmox: ping www.heise.de # unknown host www.heise.de

results form VM:
Code:
# ping vm itself
me@apachevm: ping 192.168.1.3 # 0% package loss
# ping the gateway
me@apachevm: ping 192.168.1.1 # 0% package loss
# ping proxmox server
me@apachevm: ping 192.168.1.2 # 0% package loss
# ping www.heise.de
me@apachevm: ping www.heise.de # 0% package loss (193.99.144.85)

You need to configure a DNS/Nameserver then. What do you have listed under the DNS tab?
