Hello everyone,
I’m experiencing an issue with my server while installing Proxmox VE: my SSD is not being detected. Here are the details of my setup and the troubleshooting steps I’ve taken so far:
Server Setup:
• Hardware: Poweredge R910
• SSD: SanDisk SDSSDA 2.5” SSD 120gb
• Connection: SATA
What I’ve Tried:
• Verified that the SSD is functioning properly by testing it in another system.
• Confirmed that all cables and connections are secure.
• Checked the BIOS/UEFI settings to ensure the drive is recognized and that AHCI mode is enabled.
• Attempted to boot a live Linux distribution to see if the SSD is detected outside of Proxmox, and it does actually appear.
Additional Details:
• I’m installing Proxmox VE version 8.3 on this system.
• I have no other drives installed which might be interfering with detection.
I’m not sure if this issue is related to a hardware compatibility problem, a BIOS configuration, or a setting within Proxmox itself. Has anyone encountered a similar issue or can offer guidance on further troubleshooting steps?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Kilian Koch
