When i first installed proxmox on my host, it would boot with quite large writing then shrink back to very small writing after it booted up. Now after installing my first vm, if i reboot my proxmox host it boots up with large writing and stays like it. I know this is not a problem as such, but i just prefered the small writing. im guessing it must be something to do with the onboard gpu maybe, but why has it suddenly changed?? Can i alter some settings? Im a complete newb at this so trying to learn.

im not sure what command to use to set the font size...i dont want to mess anything up so its unreadable. I looked at the wiki page but not sure which commands to use. it said $ showconsolefont was supposed to show the font being used but it said command not found after i typed it in.

In the Linux console directly you'd use something like setfont /usr/share/consolefonts/Uni2-Terminus14.psf.gz for a temporary test that gets reset on reboot, so that's pretty safe. See the linked article for how to make it permanent.

Is there a space between psf and .gz If so it then comes back saying ERROR setfont .c:301 kfont_load_fonts: Unable to find file: .gz

yeah no, that cannot work, the file path needs to be correct and those font files almost never have spaces in their name.

Type in setfont /usr/share/consolefonts/Uni2-Terminus and hit auto-complete (TAB TAB) to see more options, maybe you already hat the font with size 14 loaded.

Also, ensure to test that in the actual Linux console, not some gui terminal, those are two different things.

OK tried changing font to see what 12x6 looked like but I get ERROR kdfontop.c:232 put_font_kdfontop: ioctl (KDFONTOP): invalid argument
