Hi

i am seeing this strange behaviour where my two VMs are being turned off automatically.
and in Syslog i'm seeing these logs quite often
Mar 18 13:12:50 homepxmx smartd[746]: Device: /dev/sda [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 190 Airflow_Temperature_Cel changed from 85 to 84
Mar 18 13:12:50 homepxmx smartd[746]: Device: /dev/sda [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 194 Temperature_Celsius changed from 15 to 16
Mar 18 13:12:50 homepxmx smartd[746]: Device: /dev/sdb [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 190 Airflow_Temperature_Cel changed from 84 to 83
Mar 18 13:12:50 homepxmx smartd[746]: Device: /dev/sdb [SAT], SMART Usage Attribute: 194 Temperature_Celsius changed from 16 to 17

Does these figures mean anything? i.e. heating the machine or HDDs?

so, my SDA - is

Seagate BarraCuda Pro 1 TB Internal Hard Drive Performance HDD – 2.5 Inch SATA 6 Gb/s 7200 RPM 128 MB Cache

SDB is

Seagate 4 TB IronWolf 3.5 Inch Internal Hard Drive for 1-8 Bay NAS Systems (5900 RPM, 64 MB Cache, 180 TB/year Workload Rating, Up to 180 MB/s, Model: ST4000VNZ008)

What could be the issue? that why my proxmox is shutting the VMs automatically? is there any way I can capture what's happening to VMS

Hi,

I don't think that those small temperature changes are the reasons for VM shutdown. Could you provide the config of those VMs and copy & paste more of the syslog, please?
