Hi again,

I am currently running two Proxmox nodes in a non cluster env (ext4 default).
Each node has bonding configured (802.3ad hash p. layer 2+3) and I do ask if it is still not supported to create a cluster with 5.2 because I was reading it somewhere- clustering with bonding devices is not supported !?

Thx & Best

Hi,

I don't know where do you read this, but we recommend a second ring instead of a bound.
But what is not supported is to have cluster, VM and/or storage network on the same network (physical).

Hi,

I want to do something similar.

My storage (NAS) use a bond (802.3ad).
I have 3 proxmox nodes configured as cluster each of them as 2 network interfaces.

I would like to improve network speed (I don't use HA), so I would like to create on the 3 nodes a Linux bond (802.3ad hash p. layer 2+3).

But here https://pve.proxmox.com/pve-docs/pve-network-plain.html I read :

If you intend to run your cluster network on the bonding interfaces, then you have to use active-passive mode on the bonding interfaces, other modes are unsupported.

So If I understand well, this will not work, right ?

But If my 3 nodes server have 3 network interfaces, I should be able to keep 1 network interface for proxmox cluster communication, and add a Linux bond (802.3ad hash p. layer 2+3) on the 2 others without issue ?
