Proxmox 3 Snapshot VM

Hi,
i'm sorry for my english.

i have installed a new ovh server with proxmox 3 (default installation).
Promox work good but i can't create snapshot because the menu "Take Snapshot" is disabled.

My VM is a debian iso in local storage (default storage) and QEMU image format (qcow2).

Can you help me??

Could you solve it?

I've got the same problem: I cannot do a snapshot from a VM in a Proxmox environment, "Take Snapshot" button is disabled.

Proxmox version: 3.2-4/e24a91c1
Server OS: CentOS 6.5
Config: local storage by default; local:100/vm-100-disk-1.vmdk,format=vmdk,size32G

I did a backup and restore from de VM without any problem, but I can't do a Snapshot.

Ok, here is the response:

“you need a storage backend which supports snapshots. if you run on local storage, you need to use qcow2 disk format. "

I have changed the disk format and now it works.

snapshot are not supported with vdmk.


only qcow2 file,ceph,sheepdog,zfs are currently supporting snapshots

are you sure that you use only qcow2 disks ? if yes, you should have the menu.
