proxmox 3 openvz containers

i want to do a fresh install of the server and install proxmox 5 with debian 9
can i take the openvz containers of the v3 and use it on v5? it was previously installed on a debian 7

i cant take the backups from the webinterface because the upgrade caused problems now i cant access it

Hi,

if you have a default Debian 7 as OpenVZ Container from the Proxmox VE repos,
then the probability is very high that it will work on PVE 5.x and later.
Nobody can tell you if this will work before you test it.
There are many circumstances what influenced this.

You must do anyway a backup and restore to convert the container from openVZ to LXC.
