Hello,
atm we start with proxmox.

The proxmox installer choose the fc storage as sda, but I want install proxmox on sdb (internal first sata drive).

Installation without any problems on sdb, reboot, ... nothing happens.

If I unplug the fc, internal first sata drive is now sda, installation works fine, reboot, proxmox starts. I plug the fc again, system starts every time fine.

So, I think, there is a bug in the installation routine. I choose an other installation destination as sda, but grub is installed on sda (fc storage).

I found only follow way to solve the problem: I add

qla2xxx.blacklist=yes

to the boot option.

With this fc storage stuff is not loaded and fc is not sda.

viele Gruesse,
tp.

I guess you need to set the correct boot device in your system BIOS.

I guess you need to set the correct boot device in your system BIOS.

I activated the BIOS from the qlogic card and set this FC device to the last line of the boot devices. I deactivated this fc device from the boot devices, I deactivated the qlogic BIOS completly.
The proxmox installer offers me the fc device every time as sda. I choosed sdb (first internal sata drive) as destination for the installation. System was not booting after installation. I unplug fc device after installation, system did not boot.

Only with the blacklisting of the fc driver the proxmox installer install grub correctly, if the fc device is connected to the server. Or if I unplug the fc device, installed proxmox, system booted fine after installation.

I found a similar problems here:
