Hey friends,

I had a talk to nvidia, but since they officially dont support Proxmox we can exchange knowledge about swapping drivers correctly :)

Right now I've no clue how to update / upgrade the exisiting drivers.

What I got from nvidia for Linux KVM is this (Personal notes attached):
  1. Stop any running virtual machines that are using the vGPU.
  2. Unload the NVIDIA kernel modules. (Which modules, and how to unload?)
  3. Remove the NVIDIA vGPU Manager package. (How? "Uninstall" or delete files? Which ones?)
  4. Clean up any remaining files. (Where?)
  5. Reboot the host to ensure all changes take effect.
  6. Then, install the new host driver as per the documentation. > https://docs.nvidia.com/vgpu/17.0/g...ex.html#red-hat-el-kvm-install-configure-vgpu
Since I'm pretty new to linux / proxmox, I'd love to clarify the proper way, and not bricking the host :D

I'd love to just have a "apt get update" for this but obviously this is not how its supposed to be after seeing the wiki: https://pve.proxmox.com/wiki/NVIDIA_vGPU_on_Proxmox_VE#Host_Driver_Installation

Can someone help us out? :)

Cheers
