Problems installing 2.1 "unknown filesystem type VMFS_volume_member"

Hi guys,

i'm trying to install Proxmox VE 2.1 on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD5 with 2 S-ATA drives (no Raid). I even hooked one HDD of, modified various params in BIOS (IDE, AHCI), no chance ... Installation allways breakes up after formatting the partitions with "unable to mount /dev/sda1" (see also picture attached).

Same problem with a 2.0 CD. I used the same CD to install another (backup) Machine and that worked ... I'm very puzzled. Am I missing something?

Just an Update. I took another Harddisk (Hitachi SATA 500G) that I had flying arround, pulled the other two out (Samsung HD204UI) and then it worked. ...

Still puzzled :-(

On the worked machine (with Hitachi SATA 500G) put the strange hdd as secondary hdd, then fdisk and format it manually. Now try to install Proxmox on the strange hdd. Also you may disable AHCI and any RAID settings in BIOS if not used.

Thanks! So I did but decided to leave the 500 GB as "System" Disk, so I did not try to install again ...
