Problematic filenames for machines?

Next up in migration journey from ESXi is a Debian 11 machine.

This one doesn't want to be imported:



Any ideas on why it can't seem to find a vmdk file that's clearly there?

Hi,

can you try renaming to file to e.g. debian_11_pihole.vmdk?
IOW, removing spaces everywhere, including the folder names VM Storage to vm_storage?

Without diving in the code, it looks like the spaces in the filename/path (which should never be used in filenames anyway) are causing the issue.

The filenames in "ls -l" output appear to actually have single quote as part of their name, and there is a trailing space after extension before closing quote...
example

ls -l
total 4
-rw-r--r--. 1 root   root   0 Nov 22 12:56 'hi hi.txt '
-rw-r--r--. 1 root   root   0 Nov 22 12:55 'hi hi.txt'
-rw-r--r--. 1 root   root   0 Nov 22 12:54 hello hello.txt

It turns out the issue was in the .ovf file - the %20 was messing with the import process. I tried replacing them with spaces in a different machine I needed to import and it worked.
