problem with apc ups

Hi to all,
I have installed new APC ups, connected with usb cable and installed apcupsd, after that all the hell loose.
Whole server become unresponsive, and got this in error
Anyone else has this problem?

Seems to me like your serial-port is not properly configured (speed/flow)...

How can I configure it? it is usb connector, and this is the second server that I connected, and got same problem.
This is the: APC Smart-UPS C 1500VA LCD RM 2U 230V with SmartConnect
Problem is that server wont reboot itself and it is stuck on repeat this message...
 
Ok, I think I might be on something, the problem is if I try to communicate with /dev/ttyS0, same thing happens if I do something like this:
minicom -D /dev/ttyS0

You wrote that you connected you usv with usb, but here i read ttyS0, so what, serial (oldone) ore USBconnector?

We have a lot of these USV's @customer, on every server they work out of the Box. But you have to set the right connectioninterface at the configurationfile.
 
Ok, if anyone else will have this problem, the problem was that apcuspd did try to read /dev/ttyS0, and /dev/ttyS0 was redirected to Remote Supervisor Adapter II from IBM and that caused the problem. After I disabled the serial port in bios, everything worked like a charm!
