Hello,

proxmox: 7.2.11
vm:windows11
2 network cards: 1 for wan, 1 for lan

everything worked perfectly until the update of windows 11 in version 22h2. (on 22h1 = ok)

the wan network card works perfectly (physical hardware realtek RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controlle)

the lan network card is visible on windows but does not ping anything (physical hardware: Intel Corporation 82574L Gigabit Network Connection)

my problem therefore concerns this card (lan)

in shell proxmox, the pings pass perfectly, in the vm windows nothing.
I blame the fact that windows was installed on an i440fx hardware profile and not q35. the equipment was purchased new two years ago so recent.

as soon as I change the hardware profile to q35 impossible to start the vm (windows blue screen cannot start):

()
trying to acquire lock...
TASK ERROR: can't lock file '/var/lock/qemu-server/lock-100.conf' - got timeout

Do any of you have an idea please?

As far as I know, Windows cannot handle the switch from machine type i440fx to machine type q35: it won't start and become unresponsive. I have little experience with Windows but I think you need to reinstall Windows when switching machine type. I have no idea why the Windows 11 updates breaks your network.

merci @leesteken je comprends pourquoi je ne peux pas le faire :)
je vais retélécharger windows
si en attendant que l'un d'entre vous ait une idée concernant ma carte réseau, je suis intéressé, cela m'évitera d'avoir à tout refaire.
