Hi all,
We've been using Proxmox now in a production environment for about 6 months. First off, I'd like to say what an excellent package this is. It basically tied all the loose strands of virtualization together. Well done to the Proxmox team!
Our current setup is 2 x Dell R410 servers (8GB, single quad core). These machines are clustered using DRBD.
We are now looking at bringing a lot more of our externally hosted services in-house so we are investing in a SAN (EqualLogic PS4000XV iSCSI with 4.7TB storage in a RAID 50). We are also buying another R410 and upgrading all machines to 16GB with 2 x quad core 2.26Ghz Intel procs.
Currently, our VM's reside on the DRBD'd disks in our R410's, obviously these will be moved to the SAN, plus a lot of other ordinary fileserver type data.
Has anyone attempted an upgrade along these lines? If so, any advice/tips would be most welcome.
I am also thinking about creating a DR scenario using Amazon EC2 (VPC?), but not sure how migration would work from Proxmox (KVM) to this. Anyone else tried this?
Kind regards,
Chris.
