Persistent network set mtu 9000

Hello All,

New to Proxmox, have 4.1 up and running, bonded interface for storage, can manually add 'mtu 9000' to /etc/network/interfaces bond section, if-down, if-up the bond and all if well. Where would I add this config parameter so the setting is persistent across reboots?

I see in the interfaces file:
# If you want to manage part of the network configuration manually,
# please utilize the 'source' or 'source-directory' directives to do
# so.
But I've checked the forums and google searched but do not find specifics about 'source' or 'source-directory'.

Any guidance is appreciated.

This setting is persistent across reboots.

OK, confirmed, manually added setting to interfaces file, rebooted and setting is persistent. So the phrase at the top of the file is a bit misleading:

# network interface settings; autogenerated
# Please do NOT modify this file directly, unless you know what
# you're doing.
#
# If you want to manage part of the network configuration manually,
# please utilize the 'source' or 'source-directory' directives to do
# so.

To me that means "Changes to this file will be overwritten and not persistent".

Yes it is indeed misleading to me too. I thought the changes will be lost during updates. What is the warning supposed to tell?
