Problem: The created user loops back to logon screen at each attempt to login.
Caveat: Not a lot of Linux experience.
Setup: Proxmox vs. 5.3 wanted to use as a development workstation so installed X-windows. Root has not access to Chromium without Sandbox. Tried to logon with the created user as per instructions, but of course, there was no password. Logon as root and created psswd <username> for the user. Now if I try to logon with that user the password seems to be accepted (logon goes to black screen) then after a few seconds a clean logon screen reappears.
