Hi there,

i hope someone is able to help with the following:

I have installed a blank Debian Stretch CT on a Proxmox 5 Node and get some strange messages on the boot sequence in the syslog:

Sep 6 09:57:48 test cron[71]: (CRON) INFO (Running @reboot jobs)
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service: Failed to reset devices.list: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: systemd-logind.service: Failed to set invocation ID on control group /system.slice/systemd-logind.service, ignoring: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: Starting Login Service...
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: systemd-update-utmp.service: Failed to reset devices.list: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: systemd-update-utmp.service: Failed to set invocation ID on control group /system.slice/systemd-update-utmp.service, ignoring: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: Started System Logging Service.
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: Started Raise network interfaces.
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: Reached target Network.
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: ssh.service: Failed to reset devices.list: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: ssh.service: Failed to set invocation ID on control group /system.slice/ssh.service, ignoring: Operation not permitted
Sep 6 09:57:48 test systemd[1]: Starting OpenBSD Secure Shell server...

This is reproducible on every boot sequence of the Stretch CT. Every restart of a service via "systemctl restart service" also invokes the same problem/message.

My Proxmox Version is:
pve-manager/5.0-30/5ab26bc (running kernel: 4.10.17-2-pve)

Any ideas on this?

Same here -- this seems to be systemd-related.
Is your Container unprivileged ?
