Proxmox rookie here, I have had proxmox running for a year or so and its running perfect, I wanted to add a second nic that's 2.5gb. I purchased a PCI express NIC that has an intel chipset (I was reading the intel chipsets work better with linux).

After installation of the NIC, Proxmox wont boot, I get no output from the videocard so I cant check anything from the CLI. I was reading a few similar posts and I disabled the VM autostart but that didnt work after install of the NIC. If I remove the NIC, it boots and works fine.

Any suggestions or tips on what to check? Thanks!

any suggestions or pointers?
Adding (or removing) a PCI(e) device (or enabling/disabling onboard devices) can cause the network configuration to become invalid but I don't know why you would have no display output.
Please disable VMs with PCI(e) passthrough from starting automatically before adding a new PCI(e) device (as PCI IDs can change because of this).
