PBS The backup task completes without errors, but the backup itself does not contain all the files.

I apologize, I am writing through a translator.

I have a PBS server in my network, and a file server running Windows 2012R2 Core is being backed up to it. The backup task completes without errors, and the integrity check of the backup shows that everything is fine. However, when I tried to restore a file from the backup, I couldn't find it in the copy, and moreover, I couldn't find almost anything there. Before the problems started, I deleted the backups of this machine through the web interface. I assumed that the problem was that I deleted part of the incremental backup and decided to make a full backup of the machine again. I deleted all backups, ran the storage cleanup task, and started the backup task. As a result, I saw the following fragment in the log:

INFO: 100% (3.5 TiB of 3.5 TiB) in 6h 41m 26s, read: 162.5 MiB/s, write: 119.7 MiB/s
INFO: Waiting for server to finish backup validation...
INFO: backup is sparse: 652.56 GiB (18%) total zero data
INFO: backup was done incrementally, reused 656.17 GiB (18%)
INFO: transferred 3.51 TiB in 24090 seconds (152.6 MiB/s)
INFO: adding notes to backup
INFO: Finished Backup of VM 206 (06:41:37)
INFO: Backup finished at 2024-06-08 02:41:37
INFO: Backup job finished successfully
TASK OK

But the backup still lacks many files.

whats the storage inside the vm (e.g. the filesystem)? are the files mounted via a file share? (if yes that won't be backed up since only the block devices are backed up, not the filesystems)

Thank you for your answer.
My virtual machine is located in the pve-8.2.2 cluster.

The backup server has a separate space for this server to limit the number of backups

I understand that I'm backing up .raw disks that are block devices, but I'm not sure about that

again what is the storage/filesystem inside the virtual machine? on which disks is the data? i see you have two disks that are exempt from the backup, maybe the data you look for is saved on those?

The two disks that are excluded from the backup do not store important data, so they are excluded from the backup.
Inside the operating system, NTFS partition on a gpt disk.

I'm using a translator, sorry if I don't understand correctly.

can you show a screenshot where files are missing? are you using deduplication with ntfs ? since that will not work

On the left we see files and directories, and on the right what goes into the backup of this disk.

It seems all directories (and probably files too) with Cyrillic letters are missing! Right?
Can you try a full restore just to know if those are really not backed up or just not shown here?

That fix is released in PVE-Test and PVE-No-Subscription already (can't check the Enterprise repository)!
Just update your PVE @wisp ! :)

Thank you! Started cluster update. Once the process is complete, I will post the result. Thank you very much for your answers.
