PBS SMTP Mail Setup

Is there any way to test the configuration like below?
pve uses pvemailforward, which checks the e-mail configured for the 'root@pam' user - pbs does not use this ...

the easiest way to check if the config works as intended is to simply configure the Notification Options of a Datastore to notify 'Always' for verify jobs and then to run a verify on the datastore.

Keep an eye on the system journal - postfix should log if the mail was successfully delivered - and if not the log should provide hints at what is not working

I hope this helps!

Thank you for the answer! I manged to get it working (a bit hacky but it works). There are two "issues" with the current way i had to configure it:
#1 The option "Email from address:" is not present in PBS and the default root@pbsxyz gets rejected by the destination mailbox.
#2 The hostname in the "hosts" file needs to resolve the correct ip address of the PBS system. "127.0.0.1" is not enough.

It would be awesome to have an option similar to the PVE "Email from address:".

I would also really appreciate if we could get a DHCP option as I am assigning static DHCP addresses through my router. The Proxmox systems are the only ones that I had to assign a static IP to in the local configuration.

this is tracked in https://bugzilla.proxmox.com/show_bug.cgi?id=3162 - so we're planning to add it :)

That's in general a good practice - but what was the exact error you got?

but glad that you made it work!

Please can you post your solution?
Even with version 2.4-1 I can´t find the email-from-address setting in pbs.
