PBs notification

installed a new 4.x PBS yesterday did all updates. Did some backups everything was fine but no notification. Notification testmail works, so I think everything is configured fine.
even the schceduled backup runs, but no notification too.

thanks for help or hint.

I am guessing you setup SMTP mail and not sendmail?
You need to set the notification matcher below to send it to SMTP and not sendmail.
So disable the default sendmail and enable your SMTP.
 
I also had my issues with notifications on PVE and PBS and have some open questions still nobody was able to answer.
And apparently, sendmail is legacy.
So that is why I did the following:
- Don't set backup jobs to "Auto". Set them to notification center.
- In notification center create a smtp sender.
- set the catch rule to smtp

o my PVE 3.x every thing works fine as long I can see, in my PBS 3.x too.
On case of changes and extenting my storage I had to reinstall the PBS, so I thought take the 4.x Version so you don't have to upgrade later. I will try your suggestion.

By the way "Why is there a test that works, when things that shall be tested do not work" Such a test is worthless.
