hi we plan to migrate a PBS HOST for newer hardware, our DATASTORES are done trough HPE HBA.

as we dont find a way to export the configuration yet from PBS in case the OS is having issue rebooting is there a way to backup n restore the PBS instance ?

and as per the HBA , let say the PBS os crash and we reinstall the OS , is PBS scanning and automaticaly adding DATASTORE that it detect when booting ?

No. You will have to mount your disks/pools/arrays and then edit your /etc/proxmox-backup/datastore.cfg.

Most PBS configs are stored in "/etc/proxmox-backup".
